The team is introduced to basic cheerleading terms and techniques, beginning with hand, arm, and leg positioning. No tumbling skills are required for this team, but they will begin to train these skills within the first month. Tumbling goals are to achieve front and backwards rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, and bridge downs. This will include upper and lower body conditioning, core muscle strengthening, and agility training. There will be 1 mandatory practice a week. Radiant competes 3-4 times a season.
Luminous is a Level 1 team for athletes aged 7-12. This is a fast-paced team that incorporates stunting, tumbling, and dance. This team begins with learning the foundational skills for competitive cheer. All practices include agility skills training and team building skills. Tumbling goals are to achieve cartwheels, round offs, front and back walkovers, as well as the Mini Level 1 skills. Tumbling passes are developed based on each member's current skill level. As they continue to progress and master new skills, more challenging tumbling passes and building skills will become incorporated into the routine. There are 2 mandatory practices a week and 5-7 competitions in the season. This is a year round team (June-May).
