Pack 71 is a Cub Scout Pack in Gainesville, Florida. First chartered by Covenant Presbyterian Church in 1986, the Pack operates under the guidelines of Scouting America as incorporated on February 8, 1910, and chartered by Congress in June 1916.
Our mission is to provide an effective educational program for boys and girls designed to build desirable qualities of character; to train in the responsibilities of participating citizenship; and to develop personal fitness and healthy wellbeing.
• We are a Cub Scout Pack with 70+ active Scouts, and about 18 Trained Adult leaders.
• The Pack meets once a month on the third Thursday at Covenant Presbyterian Church on NW 98th Avenue. Many of our Cubs attend Hidden Oak Elementary and other schools nearby.
• We are divided into Dens based on school grade, and the Dens meet about twice a month.
• There are currently openings for girls and boys in Kindergarten through 5th grade.
• Annual dues are about $300 and can be paid in two payments -- once in September ($150) and once in January ($150). We offer excellent individual sales promotions (Popcorn, Meatsticks and Camp Cards) where a Scout can easily earn enough money to pay for his or her dues. Almost half of our cubs earn their entire dues from our sales promotions.
• Our Cubs wear uniforms -- we will facilitate purchasing a new uniform or assist in finding ones that are slightly used.
• We go camping several times throughout the school year. We also conduct an annual Pinewood Derby, a Blue and Gold Dinner, and a Graduation Party.
• We also have a full, exciting Summer program each year.
