This map shows the various biomes of the Gaia, in its earliest era. At this time, the planet has recently exited an ice age and has reentered a greenhouse period.
This map details various environments currently seen in the oceans.
Simple overview of the plate boundaries of Gaia
Red=Diverging
Black=Converging
Yellow=Transform
(Please ignore rivers. Those cannot be removed due to the original file being lost)
A simple map of the winds and ocean currents of Gaia. Gaia is retrograde to Earth, meaning it rotates in the opposite direction. So, the sun on Gaia sets in the east and rises in the west.
Currents Key:
Orange=Warm currents
Blue=Cold currents
Black=neutral currents
The fourth planet from its star, Gaia-86d was selected by biologists in the far-off future as a testing ground for natural selection and evolution, which would be monitored in real time with no human interference. After the planet was terraformed, it was seeded with various kinds of domestic animals, invasive species, urban species, and other sorts of organisms known to closely associate with humanity, a somewhat ironic twist considering these animals would be left entirely on their own.
The three continents of Gaia are Rhea, the giant western continent; Atlas, the tall eastern continent; and Boraes, the frigid northern continent. The island chain to the west of Rhea is known as the Hyperion Archipelago, as the sun rises in the west (in a similar vein to how Japan is the "land of the rising sun"). The islands south of Atlas is called Cheimon's Isles. The penninusla and islands of Boraes is known as Orithyia's Point.
