Directions to UQ campus and around

To travel from the airport to the university campus, where the college accomodation and the conference venue are located, the best way is to take a taxi (~ AU$60) or Uber (~ AU$40). One can also use public transportation (train + bus, ~AU$20, better to buy a Go Card). More information on the airport website here.

Go Card To use public transport it is very convenient to purchase a Go Card. You can get one from a retailer for a refundable deposit of AU$10 at the airport (both at the domestic and international terminals) or at the university campus in one of the vending machines next to the bus stops. After topping it up with some money, the card allows you to use trains, buses, trams and ferries in the Brisbane area. More information here.

Visa information

• All non-Australian citizens travelling to Australia require a visa.
• Most New Zealand citizens with a valid New Zealand passport are granted an electronic Special Category Visa on arrival in Australia.
• All other visitors need to obtain a visa prior to arrival to enter Australia.

Airport The main airport in the area is Brisbane airport (BNE) which is less than a 30 min drive from the UQ campus located in St Lucia suburb.
