Located roughly 250 kilometers (155 miles) south of Chile's capital, Santiago, Talca is the capital of the Maule Region and the heart of the country’s central valley. Steeped in history, it is famously known as the city where Bernardo O'Higgins signed Chile's Declaration of Independence in 1818.
Today, Talca blends its rich historical heritage with a relaxed, welcoming provincial atmosphere. Key highlights for visitors include:
The Wine Capital: It serves as the gateway to the Maule Valley, one of Chile’s oldest and largest wine-producing regions, world-renowned for its high-quality Carmenere and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Nature and Landscapes: The city is a jumping-off point for spectacular natural attractions, including the Altos de Lircay National Reserve and the stunning waterfalls of the Maule Andes.
Climate: In the region, visitors experience a Mediterranean climate, characterized by warm, sunny days and cool, refreshing nights. In November, the average of the temperature is 25°C.
The conference will start on Monday morning (November 16, at 09:30 hours) and end Friday morning (November 20, around 13:00 hours).
