Belkin Router Setup

Belkin routers can be configured and installed on any computer or smartphone with a full browser such as Firefox, Safari, Chrome, or Internet Explorer. Some users may have difficulty communicating with the computer when using the Belkin router for the first time because it is wireless. Use an Ethernet cable (Cat5 for better performance) to connect the modem to the router over WAN.

How To Setup Belkin Wifi Router

In this article, we show you how to setup Belkin router to make sure you can maintain a strong wireless connection. The name of the wireless network (SSID) and the security password have been standardized for the first time, i.e. The administrator of the SSID can check all wireless devices of the system (laptops, smartphones, and routers) in the network.

Make sure and check the connection type before setting up the wireless router. Here's why I like to start with the configuration of the Internet and the WAN / LAN setup options. Because I want to make sure that the Internet is present in the LAN settings and the default IP address of the router.

Unplug the modem from the power source and do the following:

  • Connect the Belkin router to the modem.

  • Wait until the LEDs on the modem light up before turning on the router.

  • Find the name of the router's wireless network (SSID) and connect your computer or smart device with the password you found on the routers.

  • Turn everything off, i.e., your modem, Belkin router, and computer. After a few seconds, turn all the devices on and wait till the boot process finishes.

  • Now, click on your web browser on the computer and enter the default router IP address, which is either 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.

  • Then, you will see a login window where you will have to put your username and password.

  • The default username is ‘admin’ and the password is ‘password’.

  • In the router user interface, click on the ‘Belkin router setup wizard’, then click ‘yes’ and ‘next’ on the screen.

  • After the Belkin setup wizard detects ‘dynamic IP’ you need to click ‘next’.

  • This concludes the Belkin setup process.

You will be able to see the new Belkin unsecured wireless network and see how to connect to it. If you can't find it, try resetting the Belkin router with the reset button on the back. You need to disconnect the modem, router, and computer from the socket in the same order and then wait 30 seconds before plugging it in again. You can also perform a hardware reset that is similar to the Belkin router reset process but leaves the current settings unchanged.

Click Connect and Reset and when you enter the password, you will be taken to the WiFi router set-up page, where you can configure the Belkin wireless router and provide instructions. You can customize the dashboard of the Wifi router so that you can unlock the router so you can control settings such as password, channel, parental control, access to websites, etc. If you are unable to directly access the Belkin dashboard, use the default IP of Belkin Extender or a local web host such as Belkin.Range to access the setup page of Belkin Range Extender.
