I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and IT from Wollega University in 2010, Ethiopia,

Master of Science in Computer Science from Addis Ababa University in 2013, Ethiopia. 

PhD in Social Network Analysis and Human-Centered Computing from National Tsing Hua University and Academia Sinica, in 2020, Taiwan. 

Experience

• I have been employed in the Department of Computer Science at Dire Dawa University since October 2010. I started as an assistant Lecturer, and from 2021, I have been working as an assistant professor of Computer science at Dire Dawa University.

• Editor-in-Chief of Harla Journal of Engineering and Technology

Research Interests

My main research interests are in the fields of Applied Machine Learning, such as AI for Cyberdefense, memory/storage optimization, NLP, and big data analytics. I'd like to make computers do more with less help from us, learn from experience, adapt effortlessly, and discover new knowledge.  We need computers that reduce the information overload by extracting the important patterns from masses of data (go to Research Area Section for more details).
