Computer opponent: heuristic. Evaluates all allowed sequences by number of points, "doors", primes and risky single checks.
Controls: Tap a checker (yellow circle), then the green target. The "Undo" button undoes the moves from the current row. The remaining pips and the score are also displayed.
Options menu: new game, mode, reset score, rules.
Languages: English by default, Bulgarian, German, French and Spanish.
Training mode: "Hint" button with arrows on the board and evaluation of your every move against the best.
What does it do:
"Hint" button: shows the best move on the board as blue numbered arrows. It is also written in notation below the board, for example 13/7 8/7, with * for capture. There is also a short explanation: captures a checker, closes a square, leaves or does not leave open checkers.
Evaluation after each of your turns: your move is compared to the best one according to the computer.
"Excellent!" if it matches.
"Good move" with a small margin, along with the better option.
"Mistake" by a large margin, with the better move and the approximate loss.
Forced moves are not scored.
Statistics: number and percentage of best moves. Resets when the mode is turned on.
Two players: hints and scores work for both.
The choice of language in the menu (English, Bulgarian, German, French, Spanish), independent of the phone language. The game will not be lost when changing the language.
The selection is saved and valid on next startup. Until a language is selected, the device language is used, and if it is not supported, English is used.
The game is not lost when switching. Position, dice, score, and training statistics are preserved. If the computer was in the middle of its turn, it continues from there.
Everything is translated: the title, the menu, the buttons, the dialogs, the rules, and the tooltips.
The code is in the new LocaleHelper class and compiles without errors against Android API overrides.
The third mode is "Automatic": the computer plays against itself, with pause, speed selection, and automatic start of the next game.
The computer plays both white and black. Each move is written below the board with a notation, for example, "White rolls 6–1: 13/7 8/7."
Pause/Continue button in place of Discard. The Undo button is hidden in this mode.
The games run continuously. After the end of a game, the next one starts in about 3 seconds, and the score accumulates.
Game speed (menu): slow, normal or fast. Also applies when playing against the computer.
Automatic pause when the app goes to the background. Mode and speed are saved, and the game continues when you change the language.
The move notation is now also displayed when playing against the computer.
