I am currently the head of Quantitative Research at BOCOM BBM bank in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Before that I was a Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Economics in UCI. Amongst my research interests are Machine Learning, High-Dimensional Econometrics and Tree based algorithms with applications to economic/financial data for forecasting and causal analysis. I am also a big fan of R programming.
I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and a masters degree in Economics from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, both in Brazil.
