About me
I am a Lecturer in Pragmatics at the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics at Newcastle University. Before joining Newcastle University, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Romance Languages and Literatures at the Goethe-Universität in Frankfurt am Main. I got my PhD in Linguistics at the University of Connecticut (UConn Linguistics). My research interests lie in morphology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics, as well as their interfaces and bilingualism. My research has focused on Romance and Andean languages, as well as on American Sign Language. I'm also an affiliated member of the Bilingualism and Language Contact Lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC).
I am an associate editor of Glossa: a journal of general linguistics. Starting July 2026, I will become co-editor-in-chief of this journal.
I also serve as an associate editor of Borealis - An International Journal of Hispanic Linguistics. Recently, we're trying to promote studies about semantics and pragmatics in the Spanish speaking world. If you have any manuscripts in these areas, this journal might be a good place to publish your work.
