G7Keyboard ("the app", "the keyboard") is a keyboard for Android. This policy explains what the app
does and does not do with your information. It is short because the app is built so that there is
very little to say.
The short version:
G7Keyboard does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. It has no internet access, no
account, no analytics, and no advertising. Everything the keyboard stores stays on your device.
What the keyboard processes:
Like any keyboard, G7Keyboard receives the text you type while it is the active input method, so that
it can deliver that text to the app you are typing in. This text is processed only in memory for
that purpose. It is not logged, saved, profiled, or transmitted anywhere. The app does not learn your
writing style and does not keep a history of what you have typed.
What is stored on your device:
The app saves the following in its own private storage. None of it is ever sent off the device.
- Clipboard history, text you copy or cut while the keyboard is available, so you can paste it again
later. It is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) with a key held in the Android Keystore and tied to
your device's screen lock. You can clear it at any time from within the keyboard. If your device
has no secure lock screen, the keyboard warns you and stores this data unencrypted until you set
one up.
- Keyboard layout data, including any randomized key arrangements you create with the key-scramble
feature. Stored encrypted in the same way.
- Settings, your chosen theme, language, and preference toggles (vibration, auto-shift, and so on).
These are not sensitive and are stored in plain form.
- Recently used emoji to fill the "recent" emoji row.
- A custom background image, only if you choose one. The selected image file is copied into the
app's private storage. It is never uploaded.
Automatic cloud backup is disabled for the app, so Android does not copy any of this data to Google's
servers.
Permissions:
- Vibrate, for optional haptic feedback on keypress.
- The app is bound by Android as an input method service. It does not request internet, location,
contacts, storage, camera, microphone, or any other sensitive permission.
Third parties:
There are no third-party SDKs in the app, no analytics, no crash-reporting library, no advertising,
no social login. The app does not communicate with any server operated by the developer or by anyone
else.
Google Play:
If you obtained the app from Google Play, Google processes your purchase and may provide the
developer with aggregated, non-identifying statistics and diagnostic information (such as install
counts and operating-system crash reports) through the Play Console. This is governed by Google's
Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy), not by this one. The developer does not receive
your name, email address, or payment details.
Children:
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children. It contains no ads and no in-app
purchases.
Deleting your data:
Uninstalling the app, or using "Clear storage" in Android's app settings, permanently removes
everything the app has stored. Clipboard history can also be cleared from within the keyboard at any
time.
