Fong-Yi Cao
Biography
Fong-Yi Cao, currently an Assistant Professor at National Changhua University of Education, is a dedicated researcher in organic semiconductors, organic solar cells, and hydrogen evolution. After completing an M.Sc. in department of y at National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) from 2009 to 2011, he gained industry experience at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) from 2012 to 2013. Working as a process engineer in chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) for N40/45 and N20 Cu CMP processes. Fueled by a passion for cutting-edge research, Fong-Yi Cao pursued his Ph.D. in applied chemistry at NCTU from 2014 to 2018, guided by Professor Yen-Ju Cheng. He made substantial contributions to the design and engineering of organic semiconductor and organic solar cell (OSC) materials. Post-Ph.D., from March 2018 to April 2021, Fong-Yi Cao engaged in postdoctoral research at NCTU, focusing on designing interfacial modifiers and optimizing devices for organic solar cells. As a researcher at the Material and Chemical Research Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) from September 2021 to July 2022, he contributed to the development of Quantum dot color converter (QDCC) ink, Quantum dot emitting diode (QLED) devices, Ink-jet printing techniques (IJP). Continuing his research journey from August 2022 to February 2023, Fong-Yi Cao furthered his expertise in organic semiconductors, organic solar cells, and hydrogen evolution during postdoctoral research at the Department of Applied Chemistry, National Yang-Ming Chiao Tung University. In 2022, he extended his global research footprint with a visit to Johannes Kepler University (JKU) in Austria from November to December, enriching his expertise. His diverse background equips Fong-Yi Cao to bridge the gap between academia and industry, facilitating practical applications in organic semiconductors, organic solar cells, and hydrogen evolution research.
