Christian Homeschool Association for Teens
CHAT adheres to the Truth of the Word of God as found in the Bible and honors Jesus as our Creator, Savior and Lord. CHAT is a Christian group in attitude and life; however, CHAT does not promote or express the beliefs of any individual church or group. CHAT does not engage in spiritual training.
The behavior of all students involved in CHAT events should reflect a desire to live and treat each other in a Christlike manner. The following rules are designed to promote that ideal.
All CHAT members must treat others with kindness and respect. No bullying will be tolerated.
All physical touch occuring at CHAT events shall be innocent and respectful. Hand holding, an arm around a shoulder, brief hugs, and similar levels of affection are allowed.
Because many CHAT member families do not allow dating, dating shall not be encouraged among CHAT members. All members are expected to respect the decisions of other member families in this regard.
Attendees of CHAT events shall refrain from using profanity, taking the Lord's Name in vain, or using suggestive language.
Music played at CHAT events shall not contain any foul language or use of the Lord’s name in vain. It shall not promote sexual promiscuity, violence, or the use of drugs or alcohol. Although music played at CHAT events need not be explicitly Christian, it must not contain lyrics which are contrary to CHAT’s Christ-Honoring intentions.
CHAT members must follow these behavior guidelines when engaging with CHAT on social media. Any posts which do not follow the rules will be removed.
If a chaperone tells a student their behavior is unsafe or inappropriate, the student must abide by the chaperones decision. If a student fails to comply their parents will be contacted, and they may be required to leave. If the student feels the chaperone's decision was unfair, they may address the issue with the board at a later date.
