Why FWAS?
Mission:
To provide a quality after school programs in a safe environment that result in educational, physical and social development for elementary students.
Goals:Promote educational competence for academic achievement standards in core academic subjects.
Enhance physical and social development by offering students a broad array of additional highly rigorous activities designed to reinforce and complement the academic program for participating students.
Reduce juvenile crime by keeping students involved in educational, nurturing and safe environment.
TIMES
​ FWAS will be Monday thru Thursday from 3:00-5:15. We follow FWISD district calendar. Last Day for FWAS will be May 27th.
DROP OFF:
Students will be brought to the gym no later than 3:10. Upon arrival to the program, students temperatures will be taken.
PICK UP:
For your child's safety, we are not allowing anyone into the building once students have started programming.
Please remain in your car, and when you arrive to pick up your child, please text # provided after registration with child 's name, and we will bring your child out to you.
(please be patient waiting for your child. We can be in many places around the school if you pick them up before release time at 5:00 pm)
Pick up time is no later than 5:15, please give us a call if you are going to be late.
About me
My name is Mrs. Meia and I am the Site Supervisor with the City of Fort Worth.
I have a masters degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelors in Pre law/criminal justice.
I have been working for Greenbriar's afterschool program for the past two years. I love the support that we get from the students, parents, teachers and administration.
Prior to working with the City of Fort Worth I was a College women's basketball coach. I think sports teaches student about discipline, time management and responsibility.
I love being able to impact our students at an early age. I am here to push them to reach their goals rather it be as a student, athlete or even just as a person.
About me
My name is Ms. Emily and I am a recreation assistant with the city of Fort Worth.
I have a passion for working with kids and music. I am currently working on obtaining my Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy, and after I graduate I plan on becoming a Board Certified Music Therapist (BC-MT).
Throughout our afterschool program I will be sharing my music passion with the students.
About me
My name is Ms. Deondra and I am a recreation assistant with the city of Fort Worth.
I am currently working on my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, where I then look forward to starting my own Business.
Most of my working career I have worked with children all across the DFW area. From the YMCA , Boys & Girls Club, Clayton Youth, and now I am thrilled to be apart of City of Fort Worth's Afterschool team.
I find great joy in helping and teaching other people so who better to teach than the future of this world today. I look forward to coming to work each day and being able to expose and instill new life lessons and skills into our students so that they can become greater than we are.
