Advocacy

The National Parent Teacher Association was founded as an Advocacy organization and is the oldest and largest organization in the country that advocates for children. What is advocacy?  In the simplest of terms, it is speaking with a unified voice on behalf of a cause or policy. 

The bylaws of both National and North Carolina PTA state that a core purpose of PTA is “to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.”  As such, it is the mission of our local PTA unit.
