Shilo is a Percheron quarter horse cross. She came to Forest View Farms as a yearling and was originally bought to be a broodmare. Since then she has done a bit of everything from pulling the carriage, doing parades, trail rides, jumping and showing. She is now semi retired to just a few lessons a week. She is 23.
Dottie is an Appaloosa she came to Forest View Farms in 2007. She is by far a favorite of many. She is about 22 years old!
Snow Pony is a registered American White Horse. She was purchased from the White Horse Ranch in Nebraska in 2002. She came to the farm in foal and had a beautiful white filly with a red mane in the Spring of 2003. We named her Fire and Ice, but everyone here calls her Freezy. Snow loves to jump and has taught many kids to ride over fences.
Sugar Foot is new to Forest View Farms. In fact, she came to us pregnant, and we did not know it. Imagine everyones' surprise last month when there was magically a baby in her stall!!
Champ also came from the White Horse Ranch in Nebraska, when he was just a foal. Although he is clearly not a white horse, Champ's mother, father, grandmother, and grandfather were all white horses. He is a super jumper and a wonder teacher.
Time Lost is new to us. She came severely emaciated and in need of a lot of food and love. She was a very successful race horse at one time. She is 19 yrs old.
Two of our tiniest ponies, Ruby and Opal are favorites on the petting zoo circuit!
One of Forest Views amazing draft teams, Remington can often be found at the Tinley Park Holiday Market. With his partner Winchester, they pull the largest carriages with ease!
Brave Heart is a 26-year-old, pony, draft stallion. He has been successfully evented all around the Midwest!
Amigo is a stallion from the original White Horse Ranch of Naper, Nebraska. He is a five generations white horse who is 20-years-old.
Silver is American White Horse. He is 28-years-old and has lived at Forest View Farms since he was 9! He has sired approximately 20 foals with 60% of them being white.
Skeeter is a wonderful boy who is on the injured reserve list and enjoying just hanging out. He hopes to be back to light duty soon.
Buddy is an Arabian. He is a long time resident of the farm, but don't let his age fool you! He's has energy for days and loves to play horse soccer and tag. His endless energy makes him a favorite among advanced students and staff.
Java is one of our go to horses for the timid first time riders! She can be relied on to carry even the most inexperienced rider safely down the trail.
Fire one of our most senior horses. He the also one of the sweetest. He has taught many kids to ride over the years and even in his semi retirement he remains one of the favorites!
Casino is one loved school pony, whether giving a child's first lesson, or jumping in a show he always gives 100%. He loves carrots more than anything, but thinks apples are gross!
Chloe is a Percheron. She is a retired Amish work horse that came here from New York. She is 16 years old and will knock her door off her stall for a carrot!
