Hello!
Future World is a project focused on depicting a series of artworks placed on an imagined documentary-like narrative of the future of our own Earth. This is mostly inspired by how Prehistoric Planet (2022-2023) addresses its depictions of extinct animals, when contrasting to the older Walking with Dinosaurs (1999), with increased knowledge on the creatures it covers. In this case, a documentary focused on Earth creatures in the future, with a much more informed perspective, compared to the The Future is Wild (2002), is what is aimed for with this project.
This "documentary" will, in a similar manner to Prehistoric Planet, be composed of a collection of five episodes, each detailing life over six distinct segments set on a specific setting, and, like The Future is Wild, each episode will cover a time period in Earth's distant future, each going further and further away from the present day. Each segment will tell stories about fictional future organisms in a dramatic narrative way, while still being grounded on verifiable principles of evolution, in an attempt to demystify speculative evolution away from its perceived purely imaginative nature, instead framing it as a workable and plausible thought proccess, using thorough scientific knowledge to justify it.
The episodes go as follow:
Episode 1 - 15 million years hence
Episode 2 - 40 million years hence
Episode 3 - 100 million years hence
Episode 4 - 245 million years hence
Episode 5 - 600 million years hence
Welcome to a new world... a future world.
