Luton Sixth Form

Luton Sixth Form College is a specialist Sixth Form College, providing academic and general vocational education for 16 to 18 year olds in Luton. Established in September 1966, we are the oldest such institution in the country and, with more than 3,100 students, we're also one of the largest.

Mission Statement and Values

We will provide an outstanding education for young people at the College and we will work with other local providers to ensure that there are opportunities for all young people in Luton to succeed and progress.

Our values lie in our ability to SMILE...

  • STUDENTS: as the focus for the work of everyone in the College.

  • MUTUAL RESPECT: caring for and valuing students, staff, governors and our community.

  • INTEGRITY: honesty, working hard, taking personal responsibility and promoting equity and fairness.

  • LEARNING: a passion for learning and its capacity to change lives.

  • EXCELLENCE: high aspirations, high standards and high achievement.

With employers we focus on:

  • Ensuring our students have the skills local businesses need to grow

  • Apprenticeship services tailored to business sector and employer size

We’re active members of our local communities, contributing to shared projects in ways which make the most of what we have to offer. On campus we want everyone to feel welcome, with student life being fun and rewarding for all.

The Sixth Form

The Shared Learning Trust Sixth Form offers a vibrant and inspiring learning environment, where our students enjoy their studies and are fully supported and encouraged. Our number one priority is to ensure that our students flourish and have the skills, knowledge and understanding that they need to be successful in their chosen careers and further study.

By choosing The Shared Learning Trust as your Sixth Form, you can be confident that you will have the opportunities and encouragement that will enable you to achieve your potential, strive for your best and believe that you are fully accomplished for what lies ahead in whatever field that might be in.

This is currently a time of great change and challenge for Sixth Formers all over the country and we are ready to meet these challenges head on. We are continuously reviewing and developing our curriculum, guidance, opportunities, including a unique Football Academy and Cricket Academy pathway, brand-new buildings, and state of the art facilities. We offer an inclusive Sixth Form where we value each student, making sure they are on the pathway which suits them the best. Our former students' post-school destinations are a testament to our philosophy and we work hard to ensure that all students can progress onto their chosen university course, apprenticeship or employment opportunity that gives them the very best start in their adult life.
