Title: Lattice QCD Precision Science for Muon g-2 and EW Physics

Abstract: New measurements of the muon anomalous magnetic moment (muon g-2) by FNAL-E989 has received great interest and attention. I briefly review the updated status of the muon g-2 from both of theory and experimental sides. The main part of this talk is on the latest lattice QCD (LQCD) estimates for the hadron vacuum polarization (HVP) by BMW collaboration (Nature (2021), arXiv:2002.12347). The result is larger than the dispersive approach and shows a smaller tension to the experiment. I discuss the impact of the result and compare it with the other LQCD as well as dispersive results. The smaller tension in the muon g-2, in turn, poses a question in the consistency of the running coupling (alpha) at Z-pole. This subject will be focused on with LQCD data from Mainz/CLS collaboration in addition to the BMW. The LQCD combined with dispersive method provides novel estimates of the running alpha which plays an essential role in the electroweak global fits and future experiments such as ILC.
