Students who join The Future Rural Educators' Club have the opportunity to connect with like-minded peers from across the state, develop their teaching skills, and receive ongoing support with the transition from high school to college. Participants will also have the opportunity to teach alongside MSU's Peaks & Potential weeklong summer camp, working with in-service educators to get firsthand teaching experience straight out of high school. Graduates who choose to go to Montana State University become part of an on-campus Teaching & Learning Community as they follow a cohort through the Rural Pathways program, ultimately ending with a shared rural student teaching experience!
As part of MSU’s Rural Pathways, the Bridge to College offers high schoolers interested in rural education an opportunity to connect with other students across the state, develop leadership and teaching skills, and receive ongoing support throughout their college journey. The first step is to sign up for the Future Rural Educators’ Club: an online community that meets once a month, led by rural educators who will help club members transition from high school to college, and from college to the classroom!
Hosted at Montana State University, the Future Rural Educators' Summer Camp is an all-expenses-paid, immersive experience for rising juniors and seniors seeking to become teachers! Participants will get to explore teaching, campus life, and the Bozeman community for an entire week, June 15-20, 2025. (The camp experience is only open to members of the Future Rural Educators' Club; however, future attendance at MSU is not required.)
