In 1954, General Huang Jie led his soldiers from the Vietnamese island of Phú Quốc to Taiwan, where part of his troops and their dependents settled in Zhongli. To commemorate their journey, they named their veterans village after the first character of their origin and destination: Fu Tai new Village. As they number of children in the village grew, permission was given in 1965 to found our school, which has grown to over 40 classes today.

School Emblem
The element on the left resembles a seed and also the left wing of a butterfly. The sprout resembles a butterfly’s antenna, which stands for curiosity and exploration. Education is like a plant, and students are like seeds of hope. Teachers, with their love and care, nurture them to transform into beautiful butterflies that make society more peaceful and warm.
