Parent Code of Conduct

As a Fusion Parent…

1. I agree to participate and contribute an equal share of my time to any fundraisers that my child participates in to offset program costs.
2. I will let my child be accountable to themselves, their team and their coaches.
3. I acknowledge that coaches, administrators and support personnel deserve my respect for the hard work they are providing to this program.
4. I will respect the decisions of the coaching staff regarding playing time, training and my child’s role.
5. I will support the team regardless of what my child’s role is on the team.
6. I acknowledge that my role at competitions is to be an enthusiastic team supporter and understand that it is inappropriate to negatively single out any player, coach, official or minor official whether by name, number or role. Verbal and/or physical abuse will not be tolerated and will be dealt with accordingly.
7. Should I disagree or wish to discuss a coach’s decision regarding the team or my child I will execute the following protocol:

a. Wait 24 hours following the practice or competition to express my concern. However, if 48 hours have elapsed then the club will assume that the matter is resolved and is no longer an issue.

b. Contact the coach, describe my concern and arrange to meet for a discussion.

c. Discuss my concern rationally and endeavour to understand the coach’s perspective.

d. If I feel that my concern has not been adequately addressed I will contact the club director.
