Magpie Community Events is a non-profit, locally-led collaboration project geared towards building, and celebrating our diverse community of like-minded individuals that love and respect all walks of animal life. MCE's collective ambition is to generate revenue to distribute among fellow 501(c)3 charities within each convention's annual congregation, and occasional semi-annual events.
Our mission statement: Progressive representation, advocacy, and respect of BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, Neurodiverse, and Disabled communities, in addition to the welfare of animal lives.
We are a modest group of folx involved in the fandom-- Most importantly, we're a Progressive group of marginalized folx that are LGBTQIA+, Neurodiverse, BIPOC, and Disabled. We also advocate for animal welfare.
Our nest has invited the company of supportive, fandom-adjacent friends as well. We are birds of a feather, after all!
The vast majority of our Team is comprised of locals, and those that don't reside here (yet!), are locals at heart because they love this community just as much as the rest of us.
Our talents reach as high as the mile high city. From arts and crafts and graphic design, biology and animal husbandry, to legal and financial-- There is so much to cover, and it goes without saying that we fill a lot of niches that you might not expect from the lot of us. It comes as no surprise that we are just like the rest of the community in a lot of ways, no more and no less.
We also have a unique opportunity for community members to contribute insightful mindfulness opportunities for us to align with through our Disability Advocacy, and Cultural Advocacy crowds. We eagerly anticipate growing these groupings to accommodate for additional necessary changes.
We hope you're excited to learn more about us, and grow with us with the days to come!
