A HUGE thank you to everyone who took part in volunteering, brainstorming, attending Fur FreNZy! Without Pride Fest out West and our wonderful Volunteers the first ever Fur FreNZy would have never been possible. And without the support of the wider Auckland Alterhuman and Furry Communities this website wouldn't exist either! 

What even is Fur FreNZy? 

Fur FreNZy is a social-focus mini-con for alterhumans/alterbeings, kemonomimi's, furries, pet regressors and more! 

My goal is to create a safe space for all alternative identities, where we can be ourselves amongst like-minded critters. I aim to keep Fur FreNZy under 200 critters so more meaningful interactions can take place, security will be tighter, and venue's will be less crowded. I also have a strong focus on accessibility for all, though 2026's event has fallen on this front I can't wait to put my future plans in motion! Overall, Fur FreNZy is the event I wish I had as a young therian, and the first of it's kind in Aotearoa! 

The first Fur FreNZy happened on February 8th (Eighth) and brought in over 170 attendees! 

It was a one-day social event for Alterhumans, Furries, and all those in between and supportive across Aotearoa! Based in Tāmaki Makaurau at the gorgeous Te Pae O Kura venue graciously provided by the Geek out for Pride event team!  We had some awesome activities including badge making, perfume making, and gaming! Our Second room was set up as a cozy break-out space, complete with stim toys, bean bags and air conditioning (what a life saver!). 

Mid-way through the day we collected all our $5 (five) raffle tickets and pulled 10 (ten) prizes! Compiled from 6 different Aotearoa Artists we had all sorts of things: from Fursuit parts, Ear headbands, Stickers, Art, prints, commission spots and so much more!
