Governing Law: This Privacy Policy is governed by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (“Singapore PDPA”) and other applicable Singapore data protection laws.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, and protect your personal data when you use the App or Services. “Personal Data” means any information that can identify you directly or indirectly (e.g., your name, email, or photos linked to your account). By using the Services, you consent to our data practices as described herein.

Collected when you create or manage a Funuu account (required for posting content, saving favorites, etc.):
Basic identifiers: Full name, email address, phone number (optional), date of birth (to verify age, per Section 2(b) of the User Agreement), and Funuu username.
Account credentials: Password (stored in encrypted form) and authentication data (e.g., two-factor authentication codes, if enabled).
Profile information: Profile photo, bio (e.g., “Adventure enthusiast from Singapore”), and preferred content categories (Adventure/Nature/Culture/Food).
2.2 User Content & Metadata
Collected when you upload, post, or share content via the Services (core to Funuu’s purpose of sharing life experiences):
Multimedia content: Photos, videos, and text (e.g., captions for a Food post about Singapore hawker food, descriptions of an Adventure hike).
Metadata linked to content: Geolocation tags (e.g., “Sentosa Beach” for a Nature post), timestamps (when content was uploaded), device information (e.g., camera settings used for a photo), and edit history (if you modify a post).
2.3 Usage & Interaction Data
Collected automatically as you use the Services (to improve your experience and optimize features):
Browsing data: Content you view (e.g., which Nature posts you scroll through), search queries (e.g., “best hiking trails in Malaysia”), and time spent on categories.
Social interaction data: Likes, saves, shares, comments (e.g., a comment on a Culture post about Diwali), and direct messages (between you and other Users).
Offline caching data: Which content you cache for offline access (e.g., saving an Adventure video to watch later) and how often you access cached content.
History data: Automated records of your browsing history (per Section 4.3 of the User Agreement), including deleted or hidden content (retained temporarily for troubleshooting).
2.4 Device & Technical Data
Collected to ensure the App functions properly and securely:
Device identifiers: Device model, operating system (iOS/Android), unique device ID (e.g., IMEI), and IP address.
Technical logs: App crash reports, network connectivity data, and usage of features (e.g., how often you use the “Report” button for violating content).
2.5 Voluntarily Provided Data
Collected when you interact with our support team or participate in optional activities:

Facilitate social interactions: Deliver comments, likes, or direct messages between you and other Users; notify you of interactions (e.g., “User X liked your Adventure post”).
3.2 To Improve & Personalize the Services
Personalize content: Recommend relevant content based on your browsing history and preferred categories (e.g., show more Nature posts if you frequently view that category).
Optimize performance: Fix App crashes, improve loading speeds for card-based layouts, and enhance offline caching reliability.
Develop new features: Use aggregated usage data (e.g., “60% of Users cache Adventure content”) to design features like category-specific filters.
3.3 To Ensure Safety & Compliance
Enforce policies: Review User Content (via automated tools and human moderators) to detect violations of the User Agreement (e.g., hate speech in Culture comments) and resolve disputes (e.g., retain content related to copyright claims).
Protect users: Verify age to restrict Minors from age-inappropriate content (e.g., alcohol references in Food posts) and respond to safety concerns (e.g., notify parents if a Minor shares location data in a Nature post).
Comply with law: Respond to legal requests from Singapore authorities (e.g., court orders for data related to illegal activity) and meet tax/record-keeping requirements (per the Income Tax Act 1947).
3.4 To Communicate With You
Service updates: Notify you of App updates, feature changes (e.g., “New offline caching limits”), or temporary downtime (e.g., “Services will be unavailable for maintenance on August 30”).
Support responses: Reply to inquiries sent to userfeedback_funuu2025@outlook.com (e.g., update you on an appeal status).
Optional communications: Send newsletters (if you opt in) with curated content (e.g., “Top 10 Adventure spots in Singapore”)—you may unsubscribe at any time via the email footer.

Compliance with law: Disclose data to Singapore legal authorities (e.g., Police Force, Personal Data Protection Commission) if required by law (e.g., to investigate illegal activity).
Dispute resolution: Share relevant data with third parties (e.g., copyright holders) to resolve claims (e.g., proving you own the rights to a Nature photo you posted).
4.4 Business Transfers
If Funuu undergoes a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we may transfer your Personal Data to the new entity (with prior notice to you, as required by the Singapore PDPA).
5. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We implement technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your Personal Data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse:
Encryption: Secure data in transit (via HTTPS) and at rest (e.g., encrypted password storage, encrypted User Content).
Access controls: Limit access to Personal Data to authorized Funuu employees (e.g., moderators, support teams) who need it for their roles.

Data minimization: Collect only the data necessary for the stated purposes (e.g., we do not require your phone number unless you enable two-factor authentication).
While we use reasonable efforts to protect your data, no security system is 100% secure. We will notify you and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) of Singapore within 72 hours of discovering a data breach that poses a high risk to your rights (as required by the Singapore PDPA).
6. YOUR RIGHTS REGARDING YOUR PERSONAL DATA

6.1 Right to Access
Request a copy of the Personal Data we hold about you (e.g., your account information, User Content, browsing history). We may charge a reasonable fee for multiple or complex requests.
6.2 Right to Correct
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete Personal Data (e.g., updating your date of birth in your profile, editing a metadata tag on a Nature post).
6.3 Right to Delete
Request deletion of your Personal Data (e.g., deleting your account, removing a Food post you no longer want to share). We will comply unless:
We need the data to provide the Services (e.g., retain cached content until you uninstall the App);
Legal requirements mandate retention (e.g., tax records);
The data is needed to resolve disputes.
6.4 Right to Withdraw Consent
Withdraw consent for certain data uses (e.g., opting out of newsletter emails, disabling geolocation tags on future posts). Note that withdrawing consent may limit your ability to use some features (e.g., disabling geolocation prevents you from tagging locations in Nature posts).
6.5 Right to Object
Object to the use of your Personal Data for direct marketing (e.g., unsubscribing from promotional emails) or for purposes that are not necessary for the Services.
7. DATA RETENTION
We retain your Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in Section 3, or as required by Singapore law:
Account data: Retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, we delete your account data within 30 days (unless legal requirements mandate longer retention).
User Content: Retained while your account is active, or until you delete the content. If your account is terminated, we may retain content for 14 days to allow for appeal (per Section 12 of the User Agreement).
Usage/interaction data: Retained for 12 months after collection (or longer if needed for legal disputes or compliance).
Offline caching data: Stored locally on your device until you delete it (via the App’s “Storage Settings”) or until your account is terminated.
8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
We comply with Singapore’s Children and Young Persons Act 1993 and do not intentionally collect Personal Data from children under 13 years old. If you are a parent/guardian and believe your child under 13 has used the Services, contact us at userfeedback_funuu2025@outlook.com to request account deletion.
For Minors (13–17 years old), we require parental/guardian consent to collect sensitive data (e.g., geolocation, phone number). Parents/guardians may also request access to or deletion of their Minor’s data (per Section 14.1 of the User Agreement).
