Ghost Detector - Ghost Finder
PRIVACY POLICY
Effective Date: Nov 11, 2025 (Last Updated: November 11, 2025)
Minh Pham operates the Ghost Detector - Ghost Finder application, which is provided at no cost and is ad-supported. This privacy policy is intended to inform users regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when using our Service.
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
We may collect and use personal information to provide and improve our Service. The types of personal data we collect include:
Device or Other IDs: We may collect Device IDs (such as UUID, Advertising ID, or other unique device identifiers) for the purposes outlined in this policy. We do not collect IMEI or MAC addresses.
Approximate Location: Derived from your device's IP address.
Log Data: If the app encounters an error, we may collect log data such as your device's IP address, device name, operating system version, app configuration, and usage statistics.
In-App Activity: Information about your interactions with the app, such as app launches, feature usage, and session duration (collected via Firebase Analytics).
Photos and Videos: Photos and Videos: If you choose to access or save camera-captured media through the app, we may temporarily process this data for functionality (e.g., previewing or editing). We confirm that this temporary processing occurs solely on the user's device, and we do not store or upload this media to our servers without your explicit consent.
Photos and Videos (metadata only): When you save a photo or video using the app, Android automatically attaches metadata (EXIF) such as camera model, date, and GPS location (if you allowed it). This metadata file is temporarily shared with Google Play Services / MediaStore to complete the save operation on your device. The actual photo/video never leaves your phone unless YOU manually share it. We do not receive or store the photo/video or its metadata on our servers.
Cookies: We do not explicitly use cookies, but third-party services like Google Play Services, AdMob, and Firebase Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information for their services.
Precise Location: The app can access your device’s precise location (GPS) when you grant the CAMERA + LOCATION permission together and use features like “add GPS watermark” or “geo-tag photos”. This data is processed only on-device and NEVER sent to our servers or any third party.
Crash logs with installed apps list: Firebase Crashlytics automatically collects a list of all apps installed on your device when a crash occurs. This helps us fix bugs faster. Google receives this list. You can disable it any time in Settings → Privacy → Analytics & diagnostics → turn off “Share analytics with developers”.
The personal information we collect is used for the following purposes:
To provide and maintain the Service (e.g., core camera functionality).
To improve, personalize, and enhance the Service (e.g., feature recommendations based on usage).
To monitor the performance and error reporting of the app.
For targeted advertising and analytics purposes (e.g., serving relevant ads via AdMob).
We will not use or share your information except as described in this Privacy Policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising by resetting your Advertising ID in your device settings (Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID).
Our app uses third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. These include:
Google Play Services
AdMob
Firebase Analytics
