highlights from being a part of the BOLD Womens' Leadership Network at IC!
"The BOLD Women’s Leadership Network is an innovative leadership initiative across five institutions of higher education who have demonstrated their commitment to collaboration, innovation, diversity, and inclusion: Ithaca College; University of Connecticut; Colby-Sawyer College; Middlebury College; and Rutgers University–Newark.
BOLD scholars are awarded two-year scholarships and work together in cohorts of 10 students, supported by a program director, and an administrative lead at each institution. Through a structured curriculum, community building retreats, and the implementation of a campus transformation project, BOLD scholars aim to positively impact the college and community. The program is aimed towards advancing the scholars' career and professional development through networking and mentorship opportunities. "

One of the main objectives of BOLD is to support and prepare female scholars to become leaders in their respective fields. Here are some things I have been empowered to do and lead in during my time as a BOLD Scholar:
I got the opportunity to create and direct a promotional video for HiFashion's runway show, a club that I am on the executive board for. I came up with the concept, wrote the script, and helped co-direct! It was my first time doing anything like this and I enjoyed it a lot. I hope to gain more opportunities to head similar projects in the future.
Much of the work we do in the BOLD program includes professional development lessons that challenge us to above and beyond one's standard definition of what it means to lead in one's career. Here are some of my favorites:
During our annual BOLD retreat, we learned about the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, one of the most popular personality tests created, and how we can use knowledge of our own personalities and others to work more efficiently and be better leaders! I already was aware of the test but applying it to my career as opposed to regular interactions with people such as family and friends really expanded my view of my power and abilities as a leader and how I can harness it. (Side note: I got INTJ-P :) )
I think my favorite part of BOLD is the opportunity to bond every week with intelligent, caring, driven, and beautiful women who are united in the sense of aspiring to be the best we can be wherever we are. Here is a compilation of some of my favorite moments so far:
