Water falls - 

1. Catarata Montezuma - Very difficult hike, need gripping shoes. takes about 45 mins to get to the falls

2. Cascade Florida on the way to Cobano on the left just at the 1st Speed bump. Private need to pay the farmer to get to the falls, also a 4 wheel drive is recommended

Whale and Dolphin Tour - Curu Wildlife Refuge, Montazuma

Whale watching season in Costa Rica begins in July and lasts through November. The best months to see whales are January, February, August, and September. During these months, the whales are most likely to be seen because they are mating and giving birth. 

Humpback whales migrate to Costa Rica's warm waters from the Southern and Northern Hemispheres. The whales from the Southern Hemisphere arrive around mid-July, while the whales from the Northern Hemisphere arrive around the end of December.

There are currently 170 animals of 27 different species. These animals are part of our Environmental Education Program, to teach people about wildlife and the threats they face such as habitat loss, hunting, forest fires, illegal possession, among others.

Location: Cañas, Guanacaste. 4.5 km. from Cañas in the direction of Liberia, on the North Inter-American Highway, entrance on the right.

2. Turtle Hatchery - www.tamborturtlerescue.wixsite.com/tamborbayturtles , (July - January) Olive Ridley Turtles - Morning or Night egg collections depends on the tides, turtle release at Los Delfines or Playa Tambor, also tour the hatchery and buy a t-shirt to support the conservation efforts

1. Los Delfines fruit and Vegetable Market - Between the 2 traffic circles on the main entrance. Saturdays during high season 7am -12pm

2. Los Delfines Market - Between the 2 traffic circles on the main entrance, Sunday 9:30am-12pm. Seafood, baked goods, handmade art, vegetables

3. Cobano Farmers Market - Left at the main intersection going into Cobano - Fresh products and produce from local producers, Friday 6am-2pm

Gitanos Bar and Restaurant - Playa Tambor - Has outdoor seating with views of Playa Tambor, cocktails, traditional CR food and a grill for steaks, chicken and fish. 

El Rancho de Leo - Los Delfines - Right in Los Delfines, they have seafood, chicken, traditional rice dishes and pizzas.

Macho - Paquera - made up of 2 restaurants, 1 side is seafood the other is all meat.

Giana -Paquera - Traditional Costa Rican food and cocktails. Great Tico Breakfast

Cabinas & Restaurante Timonel - Panica (on the way to playa Tambor) They have the best handmade woodfired pizzas. They have limited hours during the winter.

Al Chile - Playa Tambor - Outdoor seating, dogs allowed, big hamburgers and meals to go. Pasta, Ensaladas, fish and chicken dishes

El Pepe - Playa Tambor - Mexican food. Great view of the bay need 4wheel drive in the rain.
