In March 2020, the world experienced the covid-19 pandemic. Governments worldwide ordered the closure of schools, places of worship, offices, and other public spaces. My children and other kids in our community were forced to school from home...
This new way of schooling from home was new to many families, but my experience working in A.C.E schools made the transition easier. I was able to bring the skills I learned over the years into homeschooling our kids for the months that the pandemic raged and kept schools closed.

As a family, we took a leap of faith in October,9 months after the start of this homeschooling social experiment. when the worst of the pandemic had passed, and the government reordered the gradual reopening of schools, we decided to continue homeschooling our children. I quit my job and converted part of our dining area into a classroom.

By January 2021, parents in my community started reaching out to me, asking if I could help with their children who had difficulty in reading, having noticed that my six (6) year-old daughter, Rosalyn who was in grade 1, could read fluently. This to them was short of a miracle since in public schools’ children find it difficult to read even at grade five (5).

This was how we took the next leap of faith and started the Little Stars Learning Center, with a vision to nurture our children using globally recognized standards in homeschooling techniques to enable them to love God, be loyal to family, and contribute positively to society. The journey hasn’t been easy but, it has been worthwhile. We continue to look for ways to grow and impact members of our community through education.

We desire to open up our learning center to more children with reading difficulties, as part of our Little Stars Learning Center Reading Clinic, which is an after-school reading program designed for children in Gwafaan and Kwanga communities of Jos, Nigeria.
