The Fundamentals of Critical Care Clinical Pharmacy Course 2024

Sessions running from April 2024- March 2025

Optional ad hoc drop-in sessions via MS teams 

What the sessions will look like? 


Baseline and Post Course Test 

-Participants to complete before course and then again at the end of the course to show improvement in knowledge over the duration of the course.

-Separate tests for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians



Pre-seminar preparation

This will include:

-Previously recorded presentation by one of the Faculty members (~60-90 mins), watched at a convenient time for you. 

-Other material may include reading 1-2 papers (15-30 mins), watching videos/webinars (10-60 mins) depending on your learning style



Live Seminar 

-60 mins via MS Teams (GMT 3pm once a month). This will typically be interactive case studies with the participants and faculty, including quizzes, questions and application of the pre-seminar content

-May include 10-15 mins slot with other members of the ICU MDT including, dieticians, physios, nurses and doctors 



After seminar tasks (if undertaking competence route)

Tasks such as case based discussions with your local critical care specialist pharmacist or ICU SPR /Consultant (to gain Certificate of Competence) 30-60 mins per task



Optional Monthly Q&A drop-in sessions 

-Participants can join with any ICU questions


Community for all participants

-Participants can create their own Whatsapp group and have the option to keep in touch with other participants and share information and knowledge

-Participants can also communicate with each on Google classroom
