What is FFP(Fukushima Fairfield Project)?
It is a project that aims to spread the news about the "unknown" and "misunderstood" about s Minamisoma, a hidden gem in Tohoku, Japan. Its main focus is on tourism.

Why "Fairfield"?
Haramachi(原町) is one of the three wards in Minamisoma city, in Fukushima prefecture.
It means "Field Town" - as the area was a large field when people started building a town way back.
We think the English place name equivalent is Fairfield, as it also represents a place that originated from a nice flat piece of land!

What is the current situation in the area and what's the main message of FFP?
After the big tsunami in 2011 the place is not quite back to normal, especially around the coastal area remains very bare and grassy from being abandoned. But the interesting contrast is that many of the surfers are back since a while ago - as the place is a famous surf spot. Positive vibes on the empty place! and that is what keeps FFP going.

Despite the image of the struggles and hardships since 2011 event - the city actually is full of fun, exciting things and beautiful sceneries that everyone can enjoy - and not many people know about it!
