What is Fundamental Training Course?

The Fundamental Training (FT) Course is designed to equip newly hired railway operation or maintenance personnel with the required knowledge, skills, and attitude in railway system as well as to aspiring individuals who want to work in the railway industry. The course covers core, departmental, and specialized competencies essential for effective and safe work performance, with the following specialization certificates, such as:

Certificate in Tracks and Guideways Maintenance
Certificate in Buildings and Facilities Maintenance
Certificate in Power Supply and Distribution Maintenance
Certificate in Signaling and Communications Maintenance
Certificate in Rolling Stock Maintenance
Certificate in Passenger Management
Certificate in Fare & Ticketing Management
Certificate in Commercial Train Driving

QUALIFICATIONS

QUALIFICATION 1

Current employees of existing railway lines such as LRT1, LRT2, MRT3, or PNR, with functions in operation or maintenance.
Hired from December 1, 2020, onwards. Endorsed by the railway operator management through an official letter.

QUALIFICATION 2

Individuals who do not meet Qualification 1 but are interested in working on existing or future railway lines

FUNDAMENTAL TRAINING COURSE SPECIALIZATION

(OPERATIONS)

Commercial Train Driving

Aims to equip trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills required to operate passenger trains during revenue service, as well as to effectively respond to emergency situations that may arise during operations.

Fare and Ticketing Management

Aims to equip trainees with fundamental knowledge and skills in managing the sale and collection of fare media and farebox revenues, as well as in addressing various hardware issues related to the fare collection system.

Passenger Management

Aims to equip trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to manage various types of passengers within railway stations during both revenue operations and emergency situations.

FUNDAMENTAL TRAINING COURSE SPECIALIZATION

(MAINTENANCE)

Buildings and Facilities Maintenance

Aims to equip trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to carry out inspection and maintenance of different building service systems installed inside railway stations and other auxilliary buildings.

Tracks and Guideways Maintenance

Aims to equip trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to carry out inspection and maintenance of tracks, its elements, and other civil structures.

Power Supply and Distribution Maintenance

Aims to equip trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to carry out inspection and maintenance of traction power supply system, traction power distribution systems, and other electrical systems.

Rolling Stock Maintenance

Aims to equip trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to carry out inspection and maintenance of rolling stock and its components.

Signaling and Communications Maintenance

Aims to equip trainees with the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to carry out inspection and maintenance of signalling and communications facilities, tools, and equipment.

It is important to have an electronic copy of your ID picture. Please ensure that your photo meets the following requirements. Be advised that photos that do not comply may result in the disapproval of your application and may require you to submit a new one:

Size:
– 1x1 inch or 2x2 inch
– Plain white background only

Attire:
– Business or formal attire (e.g., collared shirt, blazer, tie for men).
– Sleeveless tops, casual wear are not allowed.

Face & Expression:
– Face must be clearly visible and centered
– Neutral facial expression, eyes open, mouth closed
