Becoming an agent of change is a difficult responsibility to perform. Teachers are always

tagged as agents of change. We are always expected to competently teach young minds, to

dedicatedly touch the hearts of our learners and most especially to patiently transform the lives

of our dear students. But we all know that transforming of lives is not just the mere responsibility

of a teacher and it can't be done in an overnight scenario. We need to have a whole community

to carry out such transformation. Community that will always serve as the backbone of whatever

changes we want to transpire. Community that will envisions gigantic change in the lives of our

learners.

Yearly, our school is always challenged with various activities. Activities that will measure

the whole community in educating young children. We are always instructed to prepare our

classroom, our curriculum and our linkages in providing quality education to our dear learners.

In this manner, the whole involvement of our community must be tangible and observable. In

Felina Sevilla Oaminal National High School, we have proven that this enormous strength in our

community is impeccable. One of our best practices that is annually seen in our prestigious

institution is the "BRIGADA ESKWELA" or also known as the "National Schools Maintenance

Week."

In Felina Sevilla Oaminal National High School, our commitment to provide quality

education is best shown during "Brigada Eskwela." The DepEd memorandum No. 70, Series 2007,

is our flinched of kicking off our responsibilities to nurture our learners as we begin the classes

of the calendar year. But this school year gave us a challenging journey. COVID-19 almost

devastated our vision and plan of preparing our school to its best. The pandemic situation

brought us fear and deterrence of continuing providing quality education. But since we, as

community, are strongly motivated to look for the beauty of the status quo and spiritually

strengthened of our faith and passion for teaching, pandemic plays nothing but an effortless and

powerless enemy.

To endure our plans for the class opening of school year 2020-2021 and with the

mandates of DepEd to pursue the opening of classes, FO NHS initiated the activities for Brigada

Eskwela 2020. The activity was conducted last July 10, 2020 and ended up last August 31, 2020.

Without fear and hesitation, the call of service felled our spirit of making the best BRIGADA

ESKWELA for our school a successful one. We conducted series of intensive and simultaneous

conversations of our stakeholders, barangay officials, and PTA officers to carefully scrutinize our

strategies of performing the activities.
