This is the obligatory "about me" section where I share stuff that'll make you say "oooo" and "aaaaa".
My name is Finn, my pronouns are they/them and I'm based in Calderdale, West Yorkshire. I also occasionally appear in York, and have connections in Manchester.
Some other fun facts about me:
In my spare time, I run a DND campaign for a small group of friends and have been running those for about 3 years now.
I enjoy creative writing, and one day hope to publish my own book.
I adore science fiction and have a slightly unhealthy obsession with Red Dwarf.
I originally started out as Calderdale's ultimate radio nepo-baby, with both my parents heavily involved in local radio stations. My first show on hospital radio station Radio Calderdale - "The Major Throwback" - was all about going back in time to the popular songs of yester-year, airing just after the Big Top 40 (prime spot, thank you dad!). I also did various bits of content creation from making YouTube videos to generally faffing about on the internet.
In 2018, after passing my A-Levels, I moved to Manchester to study for my BA in Television & Radio Production at Salford University. As well as completing my degree, I worked on various radio projects including producing Gaydio's "The Exchange" show on a Monday, and co-hosting the semi-popular LGBTQ+ podcast, "Queer Culture". I specialised in podcasting in my third-year and graduated with a First Class degree - yay me!
After graduating, I moved back to Halifax and settled into the amazing routine of being "unemployed" for a bit before landing my role at C I Adventures as a social media assistant. Since then, I've been trying to claw my way back into the creative industry by dabbling in anything I can try my hand at, from graphic design to podcast editing to occasionally making my own viral TikTok.
I'm a very visual learner so I made some funky graphics to demonstrate my skills for anyone looking for a more "CV" type thing. Behold and enjoy!
I felt you might ask me that...
Adobe is the industry standard and I do have some experience in using Adobe Creative Suite. However, the pricing for Adobe products on their subscription model are unattainable to me in my current financial situation. Furthermore, Adobe Products are not great to run on my computer (which has about as much power as a wet fart), meaning I haven't been able to develop my skills in these programmes as much as I like to.
I'm very much a believer in "use what you have" and so using more open-source/cheaper alternatives has worked for me so far, so I'll continue to use them until I either have a more powerful computer or Adobe reduces their pricing model.
Awww, thanks babes xoxo
