Today I headed back to Wash Park with Nate. The park has changed a ton. It has lost a lot more leaves, and the trees have changed colors a ton. The temperature was slightly warmer and less windy than on my last trip here. There is a small warm front coming through, which is creating a lot of warmer days.
Today, I also noticed that the warmer weather brought a lot more wildlife around the pond. The birds were chirping more, and there were a ton of ducks and squirrels around. I also noticed a decent number of bugs nearby.
Today, we went to the park to observe the sustainability and interconnectedness of the park. The park helps create an interconnection of nature and relaxation/recreation. The beautiful and calming nature of Wash Park allows everyone who visits to unwind and even play in many games. This is why there are bocce and tennis courts in the park. As well as a couple of pull-up bars.
It also creates a more sustainable environment. Having a natural environment in an urban society is great for plants and animals. It allows for a sustainable ecosystem and for more habitats for species that need them. The park also creates more sustainability for the city. Having lots of trees allows for more shade, better air quality, and a microclimate.
Finally, the park creates more interconnectedness for the people and the city with bike paths and walking routes. This allows people to commute/workout while being connected to nature.
