Attendees of these offerings must be registered users of the Online Learning Platform and be selected by their respective line managers to complete the course. Once accepted onto the course, an attendee will need to complete theoretical coursework online, after which they will be required to attend a practical session where the technical skills will be updated. Once complete, they will be issued a certificate and awarded the associated CPD points.
Among the initial offerings will be the following:
Medical Considerations for Vehicle Technical Rescue involves integrating medical expertise with technical rescue skills to ensure that individuals involved in vehicle accidents receive appropriate care, from the initial response at the scene through to their arrival at a medical facility. The goal is to minimize harm and improve outcomes for the injured. This activity covers the medical aspects involved in the rescue operations of individuals trapped or injured in vehicles after accidents or other emergencies.
The activity is designed to sharpen the response skills of mass casualty responders, helping to more effectively manage events in human and/or other resource-challenged areas. The process of Triage for determining the priority of patients based on the severity of their conditions, in order of priority, for immediate movement and treatment. It also begins at the point of injury and follows along the entire rescue chain to hospital reception through to the admission of the patients.
The emergency services deal with a wide range of water-related incidents and risks to people, the environment, and economic activity. They may involve rescuing or recovering people and animals and/or protecting infrastructure and the environment. This information describes the hazards in water-related emergencies, the required control measures, and the actions that can be implemented. The associated risks, in turn, involve different persons or organizations with responsibilities or interests (the stakeholders) ranging from participants in water-related activities to responsibilities for managing a facility or water space. Devising safety management arrangements that are fair, proportionate, and consistent for all these stakeholders can be complex, and achieving a consistent approach across the range of water-related activities is even more so.
