FlightEvents is an application that allows FS2020, FSX, & P3D pilots to connect to ATC via VRC, EuroScope, or Aurora. Here are some of the features and limitations:
Installation is simple:
1) Download the respective version of FlightEvents for your sim. (FS2020 | FSX/P3D)
(ATC should use the FS2020 version. No sim is required to control.)
2) FSX/P3D users need to have the x86 .NET Core runtime installed.
3) After downloading, extract all contents of the "FlightEvents.Client.zip" to a folder of your choice.
4) That's it! From that folder, run FlightEvents.Client.exe.
1) Run the FlightEvents.Client.exe.
2) FSX/P3D users, may see a message to update the program. You do not need to do this! That is for the FS2020 version only. Version 1.17.2.0 is the latest FSX/P3D version.
3) FS2020 users, in the main window go to the "Settings" tab. Enable "Slow Mode", then close the program and reopen it. (This is a temporary fix due to SimConnect issues within FS2020).
4) Start your simulator, if you have not done so already. (You may use single player or multiplayer. However, FE does not inject aircraft, to see other aircraft in your sim, multiplayer is recommended.)
5) Create/load a flight plan with the Simulator flight planner. FS 2020 users check the Navlog page to enter your requested altitude. (This is is the flight plan that ATC will receive! ATC are currently unable to sync changes to this plan using FE.)
5) In the FE window under the "Simulator" tab you should see "SimConnect Connected". Enter your desired Callsign and any pertinent remarks for ATC. Click "Start Flight Tracking".
6) That's it! You can check your connectivity on the Live Map.
1) Run the FlightEvents.Client.exe. If prompted to update to the newest version, do so. (ATC should run the FS2020 version. No sim is required.)
2) Select the "ATC Radar" tab from the main window. For VRC, select "VATSIM mode". For ES, leave unchecked. Click "Start ATC Server".
3) Open VRC or ES and load your desired profiles/preferences/sectors/asr files/etc.
4) For VRC, click "File -> Connect...". For ES, click the "Connect" button at the top left of the ES window.
5) Enter the following information:
• "Select connection mode:" = "Direct to VATSIM" (EuroScope)
• "Callsign" = your ICAO position (ex. KJFK_TWR, EGLL_GND, etc.)
• "Facility/Rating" = your facility/position (ex. Tower/Student 2 - choose above Observer)
• "Real Name" = enter discord name
• "Certificate" = "1"
• "Password" = "1"
• "Server" = "localhost"
(For VRC, it must be in your myservers.txt located in Documents/VRC. For ES, just type it in.)
• "Connect to VATSIM" = not checked! (EuroScope)
6) Click Connect.
7) That's it! You should notice "Connected" in the top of your ATC Client and your Callsign in the "ATC Radar" tab of FE.
