Summary
The UK government has been criticized for freezing pensions for over half a million pensioners living overseas, causing financial strain, especially during the pandemic.
Highlights
👵 Half a million UK pensioners living overseas don’t receive pension increases, leading to financial hardship.
🌎 Pensioners in 150 different countries are affected by the frozen pensions policy.
💔 The case of Monica Phillips highlights the unfairness of the policy for those who returned to their country of birth due to family reasons.
💼 The UK government has been urged to end the injustice by enacting domestic legislation to address the frozen pensions issue.
🇬🇧 The government’s reluctance to address the issue contradicts its global outreach and commitment to international relations.
The "Carson Case"
In 2008 the "Carson Case" was funded by The International Consortium of British Pensioners (ICBP) and others, right through the British Court system. In 2009 it finished up in the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), where it was lost on a majority decision. This now forms an established legal precedent, complicating any future action on this case.

pointing out the injustice and the fact that the Uk government has just settled with the WASPI women. Now it is our turn.
