Stephanie is a licensed clinical mental health counselor and clinical addiction specialist with over 20 years of experience working with youth and adults in various settings, including locked, residential, school-based, and outpatient settings. Stephanie utilizes trauma-focused and attachment-informed practices to assist youth to reconnect with their families and supports in order to improve relationships and quality of life. She is rostered with the state of North Carolina to provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS). Stephanie is an advocate for comprehensive care, including other partners in a client's journey as is appropriate. Stephanie educates community and support partners on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and supportive approaches to help individuals to reach their highest potential. Stephanie's approach to counseling is laid back and reality-based. She integrates knowledge of childhood trauma, attachment, and childhood development in sessions with clients. Stephanie believes that honesty and openness are the best approaches to working with individuals who have experienced trauma and loss. The goal of therapy is to develop self-awareness, integrate trauma and life experiences and change what might be a painful or toxic relationship with others, self, and the world.
Stephanie is also a wife and mother of 2. She enjoys spending time outside hiking and biking the beautiful trails of the Appalachian mountains. Stephanie has a cat and 2 dogs that provide companionship and comfort during down time.Â
