2024 CeNAM Frontiers in Nuclear Astrophysics Meeting
About the 2024 CeNAM Frontiers Meeting
The 2024 Center for Nuclear Astrophysics Across Messengers (CeNAM) Frontiers in Nuclear Astrophysics Meeting continues the series of former JINA and JINA-CEE Frontiers meetings with the goal to bring together participants, collaborators, and other interested researchers in nuclear physics, astronomy, astrophysics, and other relevant fields to discuss progress and future directions in the understanding of the origin of the elements and the physics of neutron stars in the multi-messenger era.
The 2024 CeNAM Frontiers Meeting at Notre Dame is jointly organized with the International Research Network for Nuclear Astrophysics (IReNA), and is supported by the Department of Energy Office of Science Office of Nuclear Physics, and with the support of the University of Notre Dame Office of Research, College of Science, Department of Physics and Astronomy, Institute for Structure and Nuclear Astrophysics (ISNAP), and Kontron. The CeNAM Frontiers Meeting will offer opportunities to connect across a variety of networks.
Conference Overview
Junior Workshop
June 3rd - June 4th, 2024
The first two days of the CeNAM Frontiers meeting are dedicated to the Junior Workshop, which focuses on training and professional development of graduate students and postdocs, alongside opportunities for them to present their research work.
The workshop will commence at 8:00 am on June 3 and conclude at 6:00 pm on June 4. Morning sessions will consist of research talks from graduate students as postdocs. Afternoon sessions will revolve around panel discussions and workshops about topics including career planning, scientific writing and public speaking.
Main Meeting
June 5th - June 7th, 2024
The main conference will commence in the morning of June 5th and conclude on the afternoon of June 7th.
Sessions will be dedicated mainly to the following topics: Nuclear Physics Experiments, Nuclear Physics Theory, Astronomical Observations, Astrophysics Theory, Gravitational Waves.
Multi-Messenger Session
June 6th Afternoon, 2024
The goal of this special Multi-Messenger session is to bring together a broad range of nuclear physicists, astronomers, and cosmo-chemists to identify and discuss research opportunities in nuclear astrophysics opened up by new developments in space-based astronomy and stardust analysis.
All talks will take place at the Champion Ballroom.
All posters will be set up in the Meeting Room A, B, C, and D.
