The procedure I took varies with every type of teaching procedures that encompass a series of steps and strategies I aimed at facilitating effective learning experiences.
I start by planning of my lesson plan and then preparation of my presentation by reviewing what's the past lesson and giving them energizing or opening activity that is related to our topic to make them interested to our lesson for that day.
In the matter of fact, time is the most crucial part of me. I don't have much time for the energizer and other activities for them that is why the other activities are just limited since we have a little time to do all of it. But I still managed the time of my lesson and activities for the students.
Before we start our class I always check attendance and call them one by one by them saying a Tagalog word which is "Andito po Ako" means I am here. I used this strategy for them to wake and engage with our lesson. When I saw some students who's not listening anymore, I will ask them to read what is in the board so that their attention will diverse to me again.
Also, whenever I asked question to them, and they got the correct answer, I will give them some candies or snack, so that the students will get excite to answer my questions because there's a price if they answer. I learned these strategies in my school, De La Salle University, and it was very effective.
Udon Thani became my home for a month. 1 month staying there is really short yet I enjoyed staying there not just a student-teacher but also as an individual who doesn't know anything about life. I found unexpected friendship with my students, co-student teachers, staffs and professors, It was indeed a very magical and precious memory that I put in my heart.
I struggle a little because I am still doing my assessments in the Philippines while making and thinking what am I going to teach for tomorrow. But with the people around me, I became strong everyday of my life in Thailand.
My teaching experience is very great. I learned a lot of strategies, teaching methods and how to manage a class from my cooperating teachers. I learned that being a teacher is not just a being teacher itself, but also a teacher who always have a heart and patience to their students for their better future. I was able to make a lot of good memories in Thailand by studying and teaching at the same time.
I will forever cherish these moments of us that I've learned from them always and forever. They have a very special place in my heart that no one can replace. I will be a best teacher that I can, so that I can say that people in Thailand made me for who I am today. <3
