Why are phones discouraged?
Phone use is discouraged throughout the weekend for many reasons. It has been our experience that phones can be disruptive and can distract from the objective of the retreat, which is to enlarge our spiritual life. Additionally, we want to preserve each member's anonymity and avoid the possibility of photos ending up on social media.
Why are we discouraged from coming late or leaving early?
Barring emergency circumstances, we strongly suggest you arrive on time and remain for the duration of the weekend. We have found that retreats in which attendees remain the entirety of the weekend allow for the most immersive and intimate experience. When people leave a retreat early or come late, it disrupts the event's flow and cohesiveness, and can pull other members away from their activities or participation.
