✯ About the Pilot
"Meet Tyler Fields, the 21-year-old pilot whose inspirational journey takes center stage in a published book. Honored with the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award, U.S. Congressional Youth Award Nomination, and with special days dedicated in his honor in two remarkable U.S. cities—Austin, the Capital of Texas, and Houston, the Energy Capital of the World."
Inspired by an unforgettable gift of flight lessons from his grandmother for his 15th birthday, and the dreams of his uncle and father, who were aviation enthusiasts and flew small airplanes — Tyler became determined to spend the rest of his foreseeable future connecting the world through aviation by flying countless people around the globe.
With that in mind, Tyler worked diligently as an aircraft fueler at George Bush Intercontinental Airport for several years in order to afford a quality professional flight school education. There, Tyler really experienced the magnificent sizes of the commercial airplanes for the first time. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Tyler began to form relationships with pilots from all walks of life — one handshake at a time. A true aspiring student of aviation, Tyler was able to savor every moment and learn as much as was possible from the pilots who mentored him about the qualities of every airplane that departs or lands at the intercontinental airport. This is when Tyler knew for certain he wanted to be a lifetime member of the international aviation community.
Tyler Fields' journey serves as an inspiration to aviation enthusiasts, aspiring pilots, and dreamers from all walks of life. His story ignites a spark in young hearts, encouraging them to dream of soaring through the sky and connecting the world — one flight at a time.
Despite being in his early 20’s, Tyler's achievements, include the prestigious Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from the Whitehouse. Additionally, he has the honor of having days named after him in both the City of Austin, Texas, by Mayor Kirk Watson (May 26th), and the City of Houston, Texas, by Mayor Sylvester Turner (November 1). These accomplishments stand as a testament to his extraordinary journey and the significant impact he has already had on the aviation community.
"In Austin, Texas, Tyler Keon Fields has made a significant impact on thousands of lives. Through his positive influence on at-risk youth from low-income backgrounds to pursue higher education, Tyler Keon Fields has played a pivotal role in transforming young lives. Having achieved exemplary success through noble service and honorable contribution to the welfare and empowerment of historically disadvantaged communities and positively impacting Austin’s residents, he has contributed to the City of Austin's prosperity."
— Mayor K. Watson of the City of Austin
“The city of Houston commends Tyler Fields on his outstanding accomplishments in aviation and his commitment to empower the next generation of pilots.”
— Mayor S. Turner of the City of Houston
Tyler's commitment to giving back and uplifting others showcases his remarkable character and dedication to making a positive impact in the aviation community. When Tyler isn’t soaring through the open heavens he continues to inspire and empower the next generation of aviators, ensuring that dreams take flight for those who dare to reach for the sky.
In addition to his remarkable achievements in aviation, Tyler Fields has gone above and beyond to empower aspiring pilots through his book, From Dreams To Wings. Tyler's inspirational narrative not only serves as motivation for others chasing their dreams but also paves the way to grant scholarships, beginning in December 2024, to support fellow students of color in flight school. Tyler's book proceeds will be the driving force behind creating opportunities and opening doors for deserving individuals to launch or continue their own aviation inspired journeys. These scholarships represent a guiding light, illuminating the path for students to overcome financial obstacles while pursuing their aviation passions.
