1. INTRODUCTION

FrogoFocus ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension designed to help users track their website usage, set daily time limits, and reduce digital distractions. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Extension collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.

By installing and using FrogoFocus, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

FrogoFocus collects the following information solely to provide its core functionality:

• Domain names of websites you visit (for example: youtube.com, twitter.com)

• Time spent on each domain, recorded as daily totals and hourly breakdowns

• Mouse click counts and keyboard activity counts per domain, used to measure engagement level

• Your personal settings, including time limits you set per website, your chosen focus mode, notification preferences, and any limit extensions you grant yourself

• The current date, used to organize usage data by day

FrogoFocus does NOT collect:

• Your full URLs, page titles, or any specific page content

• Your name, email address, or any personal identity information

• Passwords, form inputs, payment details, or any sensitive data you type

• Any information from pages that require a login or any private accounts

• Browser history beyond the domain-level tracking described above

3. HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS STORED

All data collected by FrogoFocus is stored exclusively and entirely on your own device using Chrome's built-in local storage API (chrome.storage.local).

• No data is transmitted to any external server, database, or cloud service.

• No data is shared with any third party, advertiser, or analytics provider.

• No data leaves your browser at any time for any reason.

• The Extension has no backend server, no account system, and no network requests of any kind.

Your data is yours alone. It lives only in your browser and can be cleared at any time by removing the Extension or clearing your browser's extension storage.

4. HOW YOUR INFORMATION IS USED

The information collected is used only to power the features of FrogoFocus:

• To measure how long you spend on each website throughout the day

• To display your daily and hourly usage statistics in the popup and dashboard

• To compare your usage against the time limits you have set

• To show a countdown timer widget on pages where you have an active time limit

• To display a block overlay when you reach your daily limit for a site

• To send browser notifications at usage milestones (20%, 50%, 80%, 90% of your limit)

• To detect when your system is idle or the screen is locked, so that idle time is not counted against your limits

• To calculate adjusted limits automatically in Adaptive Mode based on your recent average usage

• To send break reminders in Health Mode based on how long you have been continuously browsing

No usage data is analyzed, processed, or used for any purpose other than the features listed above.

5. PERMISSIONS USED AND WHY

FrogoFocus requests the following Chrome permissions:

tabs
Required to detect which website tab is currently active and to read the tab's URL so the correct domain can be tracked.

storage
Required to save your usage data, settings, and time limits locally on your device.

alarms
Required to run a once-daily background task that recalculates time limits in Adaptive Mode.

notifications
Required to send you browser notifications when you approach or reach your daily time limits.

idle
Required to detect when you step away from your computer so that idle time is not incorrectly counted as browsing time.

host_permissions (all URLs)
Required because FrogoFocus must be able to inject the countdown widget and block overlay on any website the user chooses to monitor. Since users configure their own list of sites to limit, the Extension cannot restrict itself to a fixed list of domains in advance.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

FrogoFocus does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The Extension does not have user accounts, does not require registration, and does not collect any personally identifiable information from any user.

7. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

FrogoFocus does not integrate with, connect to, or share data with any third-party service, analytics platform, advertising network, or external API. The Extension operates entirely offline and locally within your browser.

8. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Your usage data is stored locally in your browser indefinitely until you choose to delete it. You can clear your data at any time by:

• Using the clear/reset option inside the FrogoFocus dashboard

• Removing the FrogoFocus Extension from Chrome, which deletes all locally stored extension data

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

If the Extension is updated in a way that changes how data is handled, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Extension after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

SUMMARY
