REGISTRATION
REGISTRATION
The marathon includes all milongas, 2 brunches, comprehensive snacks throughout the marathon, tea, coffee, water (still and sparkling).
Participants will be asked to contribute to the organisational costs or to help out with time during the event.
Read the rules before you register. Booking is made through the registration form.
No, but seriously, read our conditions before you register...
Conditions:
Top 1. No more reimbursements one month before the event. You'd never guess how many people break their ankles in August. The frost is terrible at this time of year.
Top 2. It is forbidden to play with food. Yes, yes, I'm talking about you.
1. The marathon is a closed event. Only registered and selected dancers are authorised to join the marathon.
2. The participation cost is not refundable (you can pay more if you want). Resale is forbidden. Smuggling is also forbidden.
3. You cannot pass your marathon access to another person (and worse if it is a salsa dancer). Dancers who did not receive a confirmation will be denied entry to the event.
4. Registration only through the online registration form.
5. Dancers can mention any kind of partner (sentimental, complicated relationship, friends with benefits,...) but the Fritkot team can refuse the mentioned partner.
6. You must give at least your real name and a valid email address in the registration form.
7. When you submit the registration form, you will receive an automatic reply. This message does not mean that your place is confirmed. You will receive a second email in the following weeks that will let you know if:
a) you are accepted
b) you are on the waiting list
c) you are not accepted.
8. The confirmation email includes a bank account number, to which, within 14 days, you must transfer the marathon cost to secure your spot. In the bank transfer message, please insert your real name and surname as indicated in the registration form.
9. Access to the marathon will only be granted after reception of the bank transfer and once you have received a final confirmation email from us. If you fail to make the payment within the time limit, you will be moved to the waiting list (and later a final final email with all the event information before the final final final email with something else).
10. Travel and accommodation costs are not included and must be paid by participants. Please wait with making your arrangements until you receive the final confirmation (point 9).
11. All bank charges must be covered by participants. If the Fritkot team receives an amount lower than the registration price, they will ask the participant to pay the outstanding amount at the front desk of the event (even 50 cents, we won't forget it).
12. You will receive your marathon pass and a marathon token (bracelet for example, or a red hat) at the registration desk. You must carry the marathon token with you throughout the event (just for fun - and some organizers may think you are a tourist not part of the marathon).
13. The Fritkot team selects the participants taking into consideration:
a) balance between leaders and followers (balance, not weight),
b) city of residence (max. 25% Belgium-based participants and 1.79% Parisians),
c) quality of smile and social qualities,
d) respect of the basic rules of tango etiquette.
No further information will be given about the selection criteria. (Don't come crying to us!)
14. The Fritkot team is not liable for participants' belongings.
15. The Fritkot team reserves the right to change the marathon programme (kick out a bad DJ).
16. The Fritkot team reserves the right to deny entry to the marathon venue or to ask a participant to leave, if this person:
a) does not respect the event conditions (red hat is important)
b) disrupts the marathon with his/her behaviour (this includes any kind of harassment and we encourage participants to inform us about any kind of unacceptable behaviour) or endangers other participants of the marathon or the venue
c) in any other way breaches Belgian law (we're not sure about weed in Belgium).
The participation fee is not returned if for the aforementioned reasons a participant is asked to leave.
17. The participants are civilly and criminally liable for any damage they cause at the venue and for any damage they cause to other participants of the marathon. The Fritkot team is not liable for any damages that are not caused by our negligence.
18. White belts are forbidden unless you wear white shoes. Any offenders will have to wear the red hat.
19. Covid regulations: you can bring your Covid friend, nobody cares anymore. The plague and cholera are still banned from the event.
20. We follow Belgian recommendations for fighting Covid and we go beyond. All dancers will be asked to wear a shiny face mask during the evening milongas as it is proven that these can blind the virus and make it go away.
