Train
Stresa is very easy to reach by train from Milan. The journey takes about 50 minutes on a direct EuroCity train departing from Milano Centrale and arriving in Stresa with no intermediate stops. Regional trains, departing either from Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi, take approximately 80 minutes. Stresa railway station is just a short walk from the hotel.
Stresa is usually very easy to reach by train from Milan. Please note that on Sunday, 20 September, due to scheduled engineering works, trains will operate only as far as Arona, where passengers will transfer to replacement buses for the final part of the journey to Stresa. The complete train-and-bus itinerary may not yet be available for online purchase. Passengers are therefore advised either to check again closer to the travel date or to purchase a train ticket to Arona and then buy an onward ticket to Stresa at Arona railway station. Stresa railway station is just a short walk from the conference venue.
Car
If you are coming from Milan, take the A8 motorway towards Varese/Gravellona Toce/Como/Chiasso, then continue on the A26 towards Gravellona Toce and exit at Carpugnino (exit not permitted for buses). After the exit, follow the signs to Stresa: you will find a small road descending about 5 km to the town center, offering a beautiful panoramic view. Alternatively, you may continue to the next exit, Baveno–Stresa, which brings you directly to the lakeshore. From there, you will need to drive back towards Stresa for about 5 km, with the lake on your left-hand side.
Plane
Stresa is located approximately 50 km from Milan Malpensa Airport, which can be reached by car in about 45 minutes. Milan Linate Airport is about 110 km away, while Turin Airport is approximately 150 km away.
From the Malpensa airport you can take the Alibus connecting Malpensa airport to Stresa (and vice versa). More information can be found at the webpage (english version is at the end of the webpage):
