Our experiment tested the various profiles of disc golf discs in flight. The goal is to determine which disc will travel the furthest distance and what would be the most accurate. We chose this topic in hopes to determine the accuracy and the purpose of each disc. Knowing the behavior of how each disc will react, helps a disc golf player determine the appropriate disc to use for the game.
Doing good work early on that will help understanding the science behind the project is essential. Scrambling to find sources to explain what is happening in the final days will be far more stressful than making edits regarding the statistical analysis, figures, formatting, etc. When copies of different sections are turned in to Mr. Estapa, and he suggests edits, make the changes! Science teachers specifically ask for the rubrics to the original copies of the Experimental Design, Review of Lit, Conclusion, etc. when the final is turned in just to compare to the final paper to the old sections to see if edits were made, which is a major part of the final's grading. Finally, pick a project that you will enjoy doing! Research is a much easier process if the idea is fun and motivating to work on. Research is tough as it is, but picking a project to explore that is not interesting to your group will make it unbearable.
