Welcome to FriMap: Real‑time GPS (“FriMap”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).
Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App. These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and us.
By accessing or using the App in any way, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you are not permitted to use the App.
FriMap is a private, real‑time GPS location‑sharing tool built for families, close friends, and trusted circles. Our goal is to help you stay connected with people who matter most, through mutual and voluntary location sharing.
Core features include:
Live GPS positioning and map display
Historical location trail (stored locally or temporarily)
Customisable geofence (virtual boundary) alerts
One‑tap SOS alert with location sharing
Group coordination for trips, meetups, or daily routines
FriMap does not broadcast your location to the public, nor does it make your data searchable by strangers. It is designed exclusively for private, consent‑based sharing among people you know and trust.
By using FriMap, you confirm that:
You are at least 13 years old, or the minimum legal age for using digital services in your country or region.
If you are under the age of majority, your parent or legal guardian has read these Terms and agrees to be bound by them on your behalf.
You have the legal capacity to enter into a contract.
You will use the App in compliance with all applicable local, national, and international laws.
FriMap does not require you to create an account. We do not ask for:
Your name
Email address
Phone number
Password
Instead, the App uses your device’s unique identifiers and secure connection protocols to deliver services.
Because we do not maintain user accounts:
We cannot recover your settings, history, or shared data if you uninstall the App.
We cannot restore lost data if your device is lost, stolen, factory‑reset, or replaced.
You are solely responsible for safeguarding your device and for using any built‑in device security features (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
FriMap’s core functionality depends on access to your device’s location services. By enabling location permissions, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
GPS satellites
Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth‑based positioning
Cellular network triangulation
Other sensor data (e.g., accelerometer, barometer) used to improve location accuracy
If you grant background location permission, FriMap may continue to receive location updates even when:
The App is minimised or in the background
The device screen is off
The device is locked
This is essential for continuous real‑time updates, geofence monitoring, and SOS functions.
Location sharing starts only after you explicitly grant permission via your device’s operating system.
You can revoke or modify location permissions at any time through your device settings.
Disabling location access may render some or all features unavailable.
Your location is shared only with individuals you have directly invited and who have consented to view it.
Your location is never listed in any public directory, searchable index, or broadcast to unknown users.
FriMap is not a public tracking platform or a surveillance tool.
Location data is provided on an “as‑available” basis and may be:
Inaccurate
Delayed
Intermittent
Incomplete
Do not rely on FriMap for:
Emergency dispatch
Law enforcement or legal evidence
Medical diagnosis or treatment
Any life‑critical decision
Accuracy is influenced by many factors, including but not limited to: satellite visibility, network coverage, device hardware, power‑saving modes, and physical obstructions (buildings, tunnels, weather).
You may view another person’s location only if:
That person has independently installed FriMap on their own device;
That person has granted location permissions on their own device;
That person has explicitly consented to share their location with you.
You agree not to use FriMap to track, monitor, or observe anyone without their prior knowledge and explicit permission. Any attempt to use the App for covert or unauthorised surveillance is a material breach of these Terms and may lead to immediate termination of access, as well as potential legal consequences.
FriMap is designed to enhance safety and trust among family and friends. You must never use the App for:
Stalking, cyberstalking, or unwanted following
Harassment, bullying, or intimidation
Domestic abuse or coercive control
Unlawful surveillance or unauthorised data collection
Threatening or violent behaviour
We take violations seriously. If we become aware of any misuse, we may suspend your access, notify law enforcement, and cooperate with investigations.
FriMap offers a one‑tap SOS alert that, when activated, sends your real‑time location to your pre‑selected emergency contacts.
By using this feature, you acknowledge and agree that:
FriMap is not a replacement for professional emergency responders. We do not:
Call police, fire, or ambulance services
Dispatch rescue teams
Guarantee any response from authorities
SOS alerts depend on multiple factors outside our control:
Internet and cellular connectivity
Device battery level and performance
Operating system restrictions (e.g., do‑not‑disturb modes)
Push notification services (which may be delayed or dropped)
Recipient’s device availability and settings
Alerts may be delayed, undelivered, or inaccurate. You should never rely on the SOS feature as your sole means of calling for help.
You are responsible for choosing reliable emergency contacts.
You should inform your contacts about the SOS feature and how they should respond.
You must keep your contacts’ information up‑to‑date within the App.
FriMap allows you to set virtual perimeters (“geofences”) around locations (e.g., home, school, workplace). When a shared device enters or leaves that area, you may receive a notification.
You understand that:
Geofence triggers are estimates based on location data, not exact boundaries.
Notifications may be late, duplicated, or never shown due to network delays or OS battery optimisation.
Geofence alerts are a convenience tool, not a substitute for active supervision or personal care.
Parents and guardians remain fully responsible for the safety and whereabouts of their children.
FriMap may store location history temporarily:
On your local device (internal storage)
On our secure servers, solely to provide synchronisation and group sharing features
Key points:
History is retained only for a limited period (e.g., a few days or weeks) and may be automatically purged.
You can delete your history manually within the App.
Because we do not have accounts, deleted history cannot be restored by us.
If you uninstall the App or reset your device, all local history is lost permanently.
You agree not to interact with FriMap while:
Driving a vehicle (including cars, motorcycles, or bicycles)
Operating heavy machinery or power tools
Engaging in any activity that requires your full visual or cognitive attention
It is your sole responsibility to comply with all traffic laws and safety regulations. Use of the App while driving is at your own risk.
You agree not to:
Use the App in any unlawful manner or for any illegal purpose
Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the App’s servers or infrastructure
Distribute viruses, malware, or other harmful code through the App
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App or any part thereof
Collect or harvest location information about other users without their explicit consent
Impersonate another person or entity
Share or redistribute location data received via FriMap to third parties without consent
All intellectual property in and to FriMap – including but not limited to source code, design, graphics, trademarks, and documentation – is owned by us or our licensors.
We grant you a limited, non‑exclusive, non‑transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your personal, non‑commercial purposes. This licence does not give you any ownership rights, and you may not sublicence, sell, or commercialise any part of the App.
You retain all ownership rights in any content you voluntarily provide (e.g., nicknames, group labels, shared notes). By providing such content, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty‑free licence to process, store, and transmit that content solely to enable the App’s functionality for you and your chosen recipients.
FriMap integrates with third‑party providers, including:
Map and geocoding services (e.g., OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, or other mapping APIs)
Cloud hosting and data storage providers
Push notification delivery services
We do not control these third parties and are not responsible for their performance, availability, or data handling practices. Your use of third‑party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
Our Privacy Policy explains in detail how we collect, use, and safeguard your information. By using FriMap, you consent to the data practices described in that policy.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your location data or any personal information to advertisers or third‑party data brokers.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent, where such consent is required by applicable law. If you believe that a child has provided information to us without proper authorisation, please contact us immediately so we can review and delete the data.
By using FriMap, you agree to receive electronic communications from us, including but not limited to:
In‑app notifications
Push alerts
Emails (if you choose to contact us)
These electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
You agree to comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws, including those of the United States and your own country. You may not use or export the App in violation of any such laws.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FRIMAP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND.

ANY DAMAGES ARISING FROM LOCATION INACCURACIES, FAILED OR DELAYED ALERTS (INCLUDING SOS AND GEOFENCE), UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO YOUR DEVICE DATA, OR INTERRUPTION OF SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID (IF ANY) TO USE THE APP IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS, OR ONE U.S. DOLLAR ($1.00) IF NO PAYMENT WAS MADE.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to FriMap, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that harms the App or other users.
Upon termination, the following provisions survive: all disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law provisions.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to its conflict‑of‑law principles.
We encourage you to contact us first with any concern – most disputes can be resolved informally. If a dispute cannot be resolved through good‑faith negotiations, it shall be submitted to the competent court in the jurisdiction where our principal place of business is located, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to bring any claim only in your individual capacity and not as part of any class, collective, or representative action.
The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply.

The App’s features and functionality

from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or via other reasonable means.
