About Us

Who is a Friends of Sawyer?

We are an all-volunteer non-profit organization composed of Sawyer Parents and Faculty to support the needs of the school and the gage park community. Our goal of forming this organization is to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parent involvement and improving the environment at Sawyer.

The mission of Friends of Sawyer is to enhance and support the educational experience at Sawyer Elementary School.

Our Vision is to enhance the educational experience at Sawyer by providing resources and programs to the community. 

What can we do for you?

Friends of Sawyer was established in January 2023, our collective efforts in this short time period include: Valentine Grams, Teacher Appreciation Event, Donut & Churro Sales, Donating funds for students traveling to South Korea with Sawyer, Assisting with El Día del Niño event at Sawyer, Donation of staff lounge furniture & appliance, participating in the Circ Esteem Back to School Bash at Senca park and at our Sawyer Open House. 

Our plan for this school year is to provide fun fundraising nights, events at Sawyer, initiate school dances, provide family field trips, workshops and more. But, in order to do that, we need funding and help from our Sawyer community. 

How can you help?

There will be many opportunities for you to get involved! Volunteers for the events that are being planned are needed and it's also important for our Sawyer Families to attend the events and activities that we have planned for them. Every bit of participation enriches our community and supports our students.
