History

The Peru Avenue stairway and hillside is our neighborhood park.

The stairway is adjacent to McLaren Park and connects the Excelsior and Portola neighborhoods. The meandering staircase at 600-700 Peru winds through ample green space and boasts tremendous potential.  The hillside was revitalized in the early 2020s with native plantings and a vista point to stop and smell the flowers!

A group of neighbors collaborated with the Friends of the Urban Forest, the Department of Public Works, SF Parks Alliance, and the Bureau of Urban Forestry to create a pleasant stairway park. In April, 2021, we were awarded a Community Challenge grant to bring our vision to fruition.

La escalera y la ladera de la Avenida Perú son nuestro parque vecinal.

La escalera se encuentra junto al Parque McLaren y conecta los barrios Excelsior y Portola. La serpenteante escalera en el 600-700 de la Avenida Perú serpentea a través de una amplia zona verde y tiene un enorme potencial. La ladera se revitalizó a principios de la década de 2020 con plantaciones autóctonas y un mirador para contemplar las flores.

Un grupo de vecinos colaboró ​​con los Amigos del Bosque Urbano, el Departamento de Obras Públicas, la Alianza de Parques de San Francisco y la Oficina de Silvicultura Urbana para crear un agradable parque con escaleras. En abril de 2021, recibimos una subvención del Desafío Comunitario para hacer realidad nuestra visión.

秘鲁大道的阶梯和山坡是我们社区的公园。

阶梯毗邻麦克拉伦公园，连接着埃克塞尔西奥社区和波托拉社区。蜿蜒的阶梯位于秘鲁大道600-700号，蜿蜒穿过广阔的绿地，拥有巨大的发展潜力。2020年代初，山坡焕然一新，种植了本地植物，并设有一个观景台，供人们驻足赏花！

一群邻居与城市森林之友、公共工程部、旧金山公园联盟和城市林业局合作，打造了一个宜人的阶梯公园。2021年4月，我们获得了社区挑战基金的资助，得以将我们的愿景付诸实践。
